I like Mangold and I'm sure Spielberg will be an effective force involved with the production. I know he says it's for new storytellers, I just hope it has nothing to do with that crazy shit with his daughter this past week.

I like that Spielberg is not doing this. Mangold is a great choice.

Id rather Mangold direct than Speilberg after the mess that was Indy 4.

Mangold is on a hot streak with FvF and Logan.

That said - I wouldnt care if this didnt get made at all.

I would like to see a completely fresh take on the franchise with a good reboot than an Indy 5 movie.

what’s this now?

Also, regarding the official movie related announcement, I echo the last two comments in this thread.

I would get rid of Ford too. Even though going with a new actor risks a bomb if like Solo people don't want to see anyone but Ford in the role, the upside just seems a lot higher. If you really nailed a Chris Pratt reboot or whatever it's another massive film like Jurassic World and TFA, and then you get the 2nd and 3rd movies out of it. I also think if you go back with Ford the bad taste from Crystal Skull won't help. Plus do people want to see Indiana Jones die? Cause Ford is probably saying "write me out" if he does this one.
