Sometimes if there isn't a thread for a particular film or if a thread isn't warranted for a particular film, you can share your anticipation for it in here.

Such a Lars von Trier's The House That Jack Built, starring Matt Dillon. Looks good. Has a lot of outrage from Cannes. Looking forward to it!

This is what Variety said:
Quote:
Matt Dillon is spooky and possessed in Lars von Trier's serial-killer drama, a movie that keeps you grimly absorbed and shut out at the same time.

And here's a photo:

I’m anticipating the inevitable Thai cave rescue movie. Members of a boys soccer team and their coach were trapped in a cave June-July 2018. I predict a release date of November 2021. That’s when The 33 came out. It will make for a harrowing drama.

As you wrote in the trailer teaser thread, would this have starred The Rock it would have a much larger impact of it's film's gross potential. But not necessarily would make it a better film. Poster doesn't do much for me, but I'm intrigued by Brosnan's name.

It is not the most original action movie poster (although I cannot find any similar at this time, I know there are), but I dig it.

Knowing Clint, I bet filming has already wrapped. :funny:

Sounds interesting. I'll see it.

I was not aware of this until a few minutes ago. Obviously it's wrong to say "in cinemas soon" when it comes out in 2019, but I am looking forward to this in a strange way. I love Coogan. Not so fond of Reilly. But I do kind of appreciate Laurel & Hardy. There brand of slapstick (my least favourite type of comedy) wasn't as insufferable as, say, The Three Stooges, so hopefully this is a decent film, and hopefully it's more about the men and less about their comedy.

Spoiler: show

Gareth Evans' next: Apostle

London, 1905. Prodigal son Thomas Richardson (Dan Stevens) has returned home, only to learn that his sister is being held for ransom by a religious cult. Determined to get her back at any cost, Thomas travels to the idyllic island where the cult lives under the leadership of the charismatic Prophet Malcolm (Michael Sheen). As Thomas infiltrates the island’s community, he learns that the corruption of mainland society that they claim to reject has infested the cult’s ranks nonetheless – and uncovers a secret far more evil than he could have imagined. Written and directed by Gareth Evans (THE RAID), APOSTLE is a harrowing occult fable where the only thing more horrifying than madness is the sinister reality behind it.

Netflix gets it on 12th October.

By the premise and people involved I don't think I've looked forward to a netflix film more.

I wasn't aware of this film until just now. Seems good.

Director Karyn Kusama and Nicole Kidman are working together for the first time on character study/cop thriller Destroyer.

Destroyer finds Kidman as LAPD detective Erin Bell who, earlier in her career, was placed undercover with a cult-like gang in the California desert. The case ended in tragedy, but when the leader of the gang remerges on to law enforcement's radar years later, she has to work her way through the surviving members to track them down, confronting the demons of her own past.

So apparently (first I've heard of it!) there will be a sequel to The Shining. That's not really the good news. But Mike Flanagan and Bruce Greenwood will reunite for it. Now I'm interested.
