Charlize Theron Confirms Atomic Blonde 2 Is In Development

https://screenrant.com/atomic-blonde-2-charlize-theron/

OH MY GOD NO WAY!!!!! PLEASE ACTUALLY HAPPEN! I loved the first so much. Was in my top 5 of 2017. I thought no way they'd make another now since the first disappointed. This is great news. Still no guarantee it will happen but it sounds promising. Desperately hoping this isn't a case of a sequel being announced but never materializing.

I don't really see the point in this sequel. The first had mixed reactions, and it produced average box office. I hope this is another Dredd 2 or Italian Job 2.

Dredd 2 was never going to happen because it was a serious bomb.

That film was a bore. So slow. I did enjoy the fight sequences very much though.

It's got a few nice elements, but nothing that warrants sequel for me. I'd like if they just set in the actually 1992 in some place or something and really bring home that point with think references of that year.

Dredd was at least a decent film that had a following of people wanting a sequel. I have not heard anyone say they wanted a second, despite people liking Atomic Blonde.

Atomic Blonde is a wonderful movie even without the stairwell fight, but it *did* have that amazing sequence which pushes it into "fucking amazing" for me.

So yeah, if it's Charlize and the same creative team that gave us those great action sequences I will be seeing this ASAP.

The following of people wanting a Dredd 2 was so small though. I was one of them as it was an awesome and underrated flick, but not many saw it. Way more saw Atomic Blonde and even if they aren't clamoring for a sequel it has more potential than a Dredd sequel had.

Anyway, this story isn't done and I want more :P. A sequel could improve with the right release date. Maybe add some element/star to make it appeal more to the masses. Add The Rock lol. Set it in China so it makes a killing there. The first was overshadowed by the huge success of Dunkirk which was only in its second weekend. Movie had just a 30 Million price tag so they did make some money off it with the almost 100 Million WW gross. Dredd cost 50 Million and made 35.6 Million WW (13.4 Million domestically).

First time I've heard that. I don't think that's true at all. These films target much different audiences, and you're acting as if Dunkirk had a $150m opening. Blonde had a lot of publicity and people were well aware it was coming out. The stairwell fight appealed to all the people it was meant to. It's just that the film wasn't all that good. But it did well enough.

Dunkirk had action fans and adult audiences that Atomic Blonde would appeal to. Should have just come out in August since that was so dead.
