She was only powerful because she has superpowers, and she is pretty. She has no personality, and is mostly the butt of every awkward joke. Is that really empowering for women in 2017? The film and its subsequent buzz was all a bit of a con really. Females felt forced to support it because it's a female superhero film made by a female. There you go, Groucho.
