The Snowman; it has flaws, but unlike everyone else, through it all, the film's atmosphere firmly kept me engaged with the story nonetheless.

Tulip Fever. I think critics misread this movie. It is a modernized period romp full of absurd coincidences culminating an oddly satisfying ending. It is more comedy than romantic drama.

No, the script has issues. It hardly cares/remembers that the circus-folk exist. And Jackman's character turns don't exactly feel earned.

The soundtrack and the good-hearted nature of the film make the problems easier to ignore though.

I wanted to be stricken with Tulip Fever myself, but it never rose above normal temperature. It certainly doesn't deserve a 9% RT rating though.

My pick for the most underrated movie of 2017 goes to Monster Trucks.
