After just rewatching the first Pirates, yeah not even remotely close

Transformers PS is on par with Aliens it seems. Seems like it will underperform worse than Pirates. 5 day gross of around 70m and around 135m finish.

Now that I've seen the fourth and (ugh) fifth Transformers movies my rankings are as follows:

1. Transformers: Dark of the Moon
2. Transformers
3. Transformers: Age of Extinction
4. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
5. Transformers: The Last Knight

1. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
2. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
3. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
4. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
5. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

I have no interest in seeing any Transformers movie. They all appear terrible.

Pirates, on the other hand, had a great 1st film, and all the rest sucked. I kept waiting for them to get better and they never did and I may watch the latest one once it's out of theaters and on TV, but meh.

So Pirates wins (for me) simply by having a really good first film

There are installments to the Transformers franchise that I love (1st, 3rd, 4th), but only the first Pirates movie is passable as entertainment.

After the latest installments its Pirates by 2 miles.

Pirates by fifty nautical miles

Transformers by a light year.
