Re: David Gordon Green & Danny McBride write the new Hallowe I hated the theatrical cut but gained a real appreciation for it once the director's cut was released. The pacing's wonky (the movie has to stop dead in tracks for Michael to have kill scenes before he finds Annie) and the white trash stuff is still grating, but it's a pretty great look at how different people respond to tragedy and grief.
And the fact it's taken this long and the new film will be set in the original continuity means that Zombie actually got to tell a complete story over two films, which never happens in horror.
