Yes! So weird but I love it. I hope Danny has a major role too (not as Michael Myers, that would be too much).

A new Halloween is always welcome in my books. Hope McBride does not inject any humour.

Very interesting combo. Green has proven he can do stuff outside of comedies, but I have no idea what to expect from Bride, although he says it won't be comedic at all.

Awesome. Interesting they waited this long to have someone who is actually a fan of the series, actually produce one. What a shocking revelation. This franchise has such low expectations now, I'm ready for anything non Rob Zombie related.

I'm still sad we didn't get a third Zombie film. His sequel is still one of my favorite Halloween films (and I love many of them).

I'm not super impressed by this news. I feel like this is a weird fit for a Halloween film. At least it's not Rob Zombie. But I really wanted someone like David Robert Mitchell or Adam Wingard.

Anything would be better than Zombie.

Zombie's Halloween II is easily the most interesting film in the series after the original. It doesn't completely work, but goddamn is it ambitious.

Re: David Gordon Green & Danny McBride write the new Hallowe
I hated the theatrical cut but gained a real appreciation for it once the director's cut was released. The pacing's wonky (the movie has to stop dead in tracks for Michael to have kill scenes before he finds Annie) and the white trash stuff is still grating, but it's a pretty great look at how different people respond to tragedy and grief.
And the fact it's taken this long and the new film will be set in the original continuity means that Zombie actually got to tell a complete story over two films, which never happens in horror.
