My favorite scene in La La Land is her climactic audition.

C'mon, the best scene in La La Land is obviously the "What if..." part at the end.

Re: Favorite scenes of 2016?
It's hard to choose a specific scene from any movie that stands out as the scene that made an impact. For me, the most meaningful scene is often the final scene in the movie, effectively giving meaning to all the scenes that came before it. That said, here are some that I can remember:
tribal fire dance / entering the pond / very end scene -- American Honey chiron & kevin on the beach / age 16 -- Moonlight future conversation with chinese president / realizing the weapon / deciding to say YES -- Arrival demon takes its prey / photo shoot by the pool / eye finish the job / end credits --The Neon Demon
agree with: cold open -- Midnight Special peek-a-boo / missing baby -- The VVitch pact with black phillip / final scene at the fire -- The VVitch hall of bones -- Kubo and the two Strings elle's first catwalk -- The Neon Demon courtroom / jar -- Batman v Superman
I'd have to rewatch a bunch of movies to remember more. I feel like I'm missing things from Hail, Caesar!, Everybody Wants Some!!, Krisha, Edge of Seventeen, etc.

Re: Favorite scenes of 2016?
Silence has several of 2016's most striking scenes, particularly the seaside crucifixion.

Patriots Day - Last police officer/ambulance on Boylston St. (More of a best scene instead of favorite) Deadpool - Opening credits Arrival - The banquet Finding Dory - Seashells
Vader's scene in Rogue One would be on this list, except it's never explained why he's never that badass again in the following (OT) films, especially in A New Hope.

He chops off his son's hand. Is that not badass enough?

I read some critiqued Stone's goofiness there, but I thought it was great with that scene being one of the highlights of the film.
