Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
I can't believe that there are two Batman films coming out this year, 4 in two years basically, and I'm feeling kind of bad that neither is in my top 10 anticipated this year.

Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
Quote: Tom Cruise, Joel McHale, Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds, Armie Hammer, and Jake Gyllenhaal are on the shortlist of actors DC Entertainment is considering pursuing for the role of Hal Jordan in “Green Lantern Corps,” multiple people with knowledge of the project exclusively tell TheWrap. How HILARIOUS would it be if they got Reynolds back for the role.

I doubt Reynolds is really considering doing it but who knows.
Hammer and Gyllenhaal seem like the best picks from that lot.

Further proof that they never had a plan to begin with. They are fumbling their way through golden potential.

Another good move. Don't just throw your best characters out there to die. Margot and The Rock can carry this through 2019 while WB figures things out.

Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
I mean, they've halted most everything, and are going much slower than they probably expected to. Which is a GREAT thing. Stop rushing. And a rewrite of the whole film is great, because you don't want to keep touching up the same script over and over...
But who TF would hire that guy? He's done next to nothing. The only movie already released written by him was awful. King Arthur doesn't inspire hope.
Hollywood isn't lacking in writers or directors that are talented. Yet they hire a boring, bad, white dude?

Involved is a very vague term. If he was highly involved, sure. Maybe I'd be better with the hire.

Affleck isn't directing Batman. What was the point of casting him then?

Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
Somebody on twitter said that Matt Reeves was at the top of the shortlist of possible directors. If that turned out to be true it would be pretty dope, but I'm not buying it just yet.

Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
Well this is either him being tired of being asked about it, or WB reacting to the direction of his most recent film.
Or neither. Hope they can get a unique director. And this better not become what the Flash currently is.

I mean, everything I've read seems to read like Ben stepped down. Assuming it was mutual. But who knows.

But who knows. it's all politics WB heads don't have the same confidence in him directing like they do Zack Synder. WB heads are fucking up the DC universe. Which is unbelievable cause their TV dept is KILLING it.

I've heard the script isn't in great shape and Ben and WB are at odds about the best way forward. Ben dropped out to maintain the relationship in the future.

Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
I really think depending on the reception to Justice League and to some degree Wonder Woman will decide if Affleck chooses to completely abandon ship or not. Forbes has already stated that he was considering walking away and honestly by the end of this year I wouldn't be surprised if he did. Warner Bros is such a fucking mess as a studio right now.

Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
Man, what would happen to Aquaman if Ben dropped out of Batman? We'd get WW, then JL... but then nothing. The DCEU would be done. They'd have to completely start over. I mean, they can always go the DC Rebirth route...
