Jonah Hill's career has been pretty cold for a few years now.

At the beginning of his career, I would never have guessed he would have 2 Academy Award nominations under his belt in his first 10 years as an actor. And his IMDb filmography doesn't show any gaps where he's been unemployed.

The only reason he seems lower profile than he should is that 23 JS (or 23/MIB) never happened so he has a gap in his resume where a big hit should be. Other than that, Hill's career is fine.

Jim Carrey's career hasn't much gone anywhere since 2008.

lol fuck off

Carrey reached the top and stayed there for years. Nothing much else to achieve besides artistic growth, which he went for much more since his comedy days.

Carrey's done a bunch of cameos and small parts just for the fun of it apparently. I don't think he's tried to star in anything in quite a while. I doubt it's because no one would hire him to do so.

He did that awesome Documentary last year too.

When he wants to come back I'm sure he will. He'll always have Ace 3 up his sleeve, I think he's just been laying low.

Carrey was insanely huge between 1995-1997. He then continued with hits into the mid 00s. You cant consider him a once popular actor who's career went nowhere.

Since 2008, Carrey had a Christmas adaptation that performed fairly well (despite a massive budget), a pedestrian family movie that did OK, two under-performing comedies and a high profile sequel that probably did better than it should have. Even though he hasn't had a major hit, it also doesn't look like he's tried for one either.

Yeah he hasnt really tried (outside of D&DTo).

I also think his off-screen problems have kept him occupied.

Just a re-cap of the sort of person that this thread was made for...

Orlando Bloom

Antonio Banderas, from his supporting roles in high profile movies (Philadelphia, Interview with the Vampire) to his starring roles (Zorro, Evita, Desperado) to mostly DTV action movies filmed in Bulgaria.

James Spader and Eric Roberts. Or they never reached that "popular" status? Although, Spader starred in other interesting movies going into 00s, but not in the likes of Wolf and Stargate. Eric Roberts after several acclaimed performances began his descent into low-budget actioners/thrillers.

James Spader is on a decently successful NBC drama.

If Anything Spader is more popular than ever. He's been a regular on 4 different shows almost the entire last 15 years. Plus Ultron. You also forget a lot of movies he was in over the years. He seems to be chugging along.

I guess you could say Michael Richards. Post Seinfeld he passed on Monk, had that epic failure of a series. And then racist rant just killed any chance of a comeback (Though he was ok when he did Curb) Topher Grace really swung and missed with his movie career especially with Spider-man 3 (But even he still works)

Topher Grace is a great one! Definitely in-line with what this thread was created for.

But how popular was Topher Grace really?
Orlando Bloom had important parts in two huge franchises, and had big parts in well known movies like Black Hawk Down, Troy or Kingdom of Heaven.
Topher Grace was part of an ensemble in a hit TV series and played the villain in the least liked part of a then blockbuster trilogy.

Therefore, I would say Bloom's fall from grace is bigger than Topher's fall from grace (no pun intended...).

Definitely bigger, but this thread can still induct Topher Grace. He definitely qualifies.

Everyone always knew Bloom was a mediocre talent/pretty face who was lucky to get in those major franchises though. I think his career followed its natural path

It's hard to include a name like Michael Richards. Anything after 1998 has been nothing short of a disaster (I never knew that Monk thing!). But I'm sure he can forever live comfortably off of Seinfeld and will always be recognizable from that. He's barely tried since then. Two failed sitcoms (don't forget Kirstie!) and a brief role on Curb. And of course the failed standup career.

Adam DeVine will be eligible for this thread in a few years. He's a stupid little prick.

Did Beauty and the Beast and The Circle kill Emma Watson’s career?

Rebecca Romijn-Stamos (now just Rebecca Romijn) was a thing in early 2000s but faded at some point. Guess she was just kind of a generic hot blonde

I suspect she'll be heard from again if on TV if not movies, but Amy Ryan's career should be better in my opinion now 10 years since her Oscar nomination, she can play drama, mom roles or comedy (I think she's better on the Office than she is in her Oscar nominated role) so I don't know why she didn't get more consistent work

There are new Rebecca Romijn's every year, so I never expected she would go anywhere.

And Amy Ryan, I guess she never became very big despite a nomination, I feel a supporting actor nod doesn't often lead to anything real in terms of climbing up the hollywood pyramid.
