December needs to get here already. In Rian Johnson I trust. JJ Abrams should be ashamed of the abomination he made that was The Force Awakens. That will stand as the biggest hack job of JJ's career, not an easy feat for him.

You didn't like TFA and you hope to like its continuation because of director change?

Yes. I feel Rian Johnson will take the trilogy into a different direction. I have a strong feeling this will mean a different tone, different feel, and very likely will change the perception of at least some of the main characters. Also it's not just a director change, but a writer change as well. TFA's script was a mess of different people involved in it, with many different revisions. The Last Jedi is written AND directed by Rian Johnson. He is one of the rare people in Hollywood like Chris Nolan who write and direct all of their films.

I found both Brick and Looper to be absolutely excellent films, and The Brothers Bloom a very good film. To me Rian Johnson has proven himself with his short, yet excellent filmography. I can't say the same about JJ Abrams.

Is there not gonna be a final trailer? I can't believe the "lack" of promotion. I guess it doesn't need much but for the casual audiences it would be nice to release something.

October 9th during Monday night football the final trailer will be released.
Also tickets should go on sale that night as well.
Same marketing plan as the Force Awakens. A week or 2 later the international trailer will be released. And then bunch of tv spots during the month of November.

It's the exact same roll-out plan as THE FORCE AWAKENS, minus the 13-months-early teaser.

And then Japan will release another that is ridiculously different

Come Thanksgiving SW fever will return. Also being that EP8 won't hit FA levels, the want a scapegoat in the marketing campaign. They already have the "it's a much darker film" As long as it delivers and tops Rogue One, not much to really care about.

Just got my tickets for 7pm IMAX...thought tickets weren't going on sale until the trailer played at halftime, but that was fake news.

Apparently Rian is telling people the new trailer has a lot of spoilers.

This will limit its showtimes by one per day. Shouldn't have too much of an effect.

Haven't seen the trailer yet, but revealing some stuff is good. It entices people who may have not liked TFA and weren't planning to see TLJ. And for those who already really wanted to go, it can make it more exciting. Don't understand why people want to go in so blind.

Trailer is crap. There is no Finn or Poe. It clearly tries to be misleading which is just nonsensical.

Visually it seems like such a step backwards from the last two. Some really oddly composed shots.

I'm glad i only skimmed through the trailer.

Id rather know as little as possible about this one.
