I think it's more of the tone in which she says it. She doesn't say it as someone who would just have a passing knowledge of that. That and it probably isn't far fetched that that intrigued Elliot enough to listen to the entire conversation which begins with Paris slapping Bond in the face, follows with Bond asking, " Was it something I said?" with Paris answering, "How about the words I'll be right back?"

That's not much of a stretch..

Except for the fact that it took Techie Guy a bit of time to be able to manage even the "gun under the pillow" bit due to the garbage audio.

But why am I arguing? It's Tomorrow Never Dies. Next we'll debate the relative qualities of Octopussy.

He still would've seen the slap. Is she so protective over an old college roommate that she'd slap him?

But you're right about arguing minute details. James Bond and logic don't always go hand-in-hand.

For the record, I've been slapped by an ex's roommate.

She does sleep with Bond again though. She was probably better off not sneaking out on Carver.

Tomorrow Never Dies is easily the worst Bond film since View to a Kill. It takes everything that worked well in Goldeneye and stops pushing the envelope and back to the safe approach, bringing back to the cliches of Bond. To make matters worse, it's boring, Carver is not a good villain (Sorry J Mart, but a man trying to start WWIII for Ratings is harder to swallow than Bond's pre cold war man juice.) And the action scenes are not memorable in the slightest, from The big Russian Sysco looking henchman to the asian bond girl not doing.

That may sound like I hated the film, which is not true. It still has some good action scenes, and never gets laughably bad, and Brosnan is probably at his best in this film. I will say that World is not Enough and Die Another Day are overall worst films, but their best parts outshine almost anything in Tomorrow Never Dies.

Carver was almost a prescient character in a way. Not a terrific villain but the concept behind him is solid.

Can't really remember these ones too well. They all merge into one and it's hard to remember which is which. I've seen them all many times on TV, but I never check the titles. It's just "oh, James Bond is on again" and I watch it. Need to watch again:

The Man With the Golden Gun
Octopussy
Diamonds are Forever
For Your Eyes Only
Thunderball
The Spy Who Loved Me
From Russia With Love
Goldfinger
You Only Live Twice
Live and Let Die

Brosnan's the best of the Bonds at being able to play both serious and silly. The World Is Not Enough is a perfect example. One moment he's executing an unarmed woman and taking a moment to grieve, and in another he's straightening his tie while underwater. And he makes it work.
Great observation!

I also enjoyed this one:
Quote:
James Whitbrook, writing for io9:

Moonraker might not be the best Bond movie — it might not even be the best of Moore’s time with the Bond mantle. But all these years later, its goofy charm perhaps best represents the joyful camp that Moore brought to his role as 007, something we will always remember now that he’s gone.

Over the years, my youthful resistance to campiness has faded, and my esteem for Moonraker has grown.

Daniel Craig isn't a great Bond, but happens to be in the best Bond films. Brosnan is the perfect Bond for me, but then I suppose more or less people choose the one that was Bond when they were young and first got interested in Bond movies.

I found it difficult to really give them grades, I even liked Lazenby too because his is one of the best Bond films I think.
And yeah agree about Craig exactly.
Brosnan is the Bond I'd enjoy the most by far. Connery might not be worse, but Brosnan's film have had much more impact on me.

I'm looking forward to watching the new documentary/docudrama about George Lazenby - Becoming Bond.

Also, I like this latter day review of On Her Majesty's Secret Service, that helps place the movie and Lazenby in historical context.
