For my review of Stone Of Destiny, a docudrama with just the right amount of cheese, admiringly set in Scotland circa 1950 A.D., please see the thread title...

Lots of interesting talent behind Stone Of Destiny and on display in it too...

This is director Charles Martin Smith's second great small independent regional film after the unheralded The Snow Walker. He's had a very eclectic career from his early notable acting roles in American Grafitti and Never Cry Wolf, through a veritable history of American TV (Brady Bunch, Love American Style, Streets of San Francisco, Baretta, Tales From The Crypt, L.A. Law, X-Files, Ally McBeal, Law & Order). I'm glad to see that he has decided to forge his own destiny with his writing and directing skills...

The actors in Stone of Destiny have great resumes:

Charlie Cox, who we recently saw in a lead role of Stardust, and earlier in Casanova with Heath Ledger.

Kate Mara with her small role in Brokeback Mountain and more recently in Transsiberian.

Billy Boyd as Pippin in the unavoidable LOTR.

Robert Carlyle and Brenda Fricker - - only in a supporting roles here, but clearly need no introduction.

Ciaron Kelly and Steven McCole who I haven't noticed before, but have promising careers ahead of them.

Yep, Stone Of Destiny is both a huge symbolic chunk of sandstone and a delightful little gem of a movie at the same time...
