Re: Best Director 2020
Pain & Glory is one of the best reviewed movies of Almodovar's career - he definitely could get a spot even without a BP nomination

I'm not so sure about that. The Oscars aren't like the Grammys where a secret committee fixes the nominations in the major categories. The Oscars is still one man one vote and it's all in secret. I also can't see who she'd replace. The first four seem guaranteed a nomination---Sam Mendes would be the one she could edge out but 1917 and Little Women are basically tied in terms of acclaim, and I feel like voters will think that it was more challenging for Mendes to pull off his film and that he deserves the nomination more. Which he probably does.

If Greta makes it in I imagine it'd be at Mendes' or Baumbach's expense.

Re: Best Director 2020
Going with Bong or Mendes. Either Parasite or 1917 could win BP, or if they do something weird like JoJo or Joker, either would be fine as a sole Director winner too. I no longer believe in OUATIH or Tarantino chance to win after its editing snub. Unfortunately this is their only chance for him to win as he laid it out on a platter for them with a movie about Hollywood, he’ll probably make a Star Trek or horror movie or whatever next and that’ll be that

I would guess Bong Joon-ho wins this.

Re: Best Director 2020
I could see a split: maybe 1917 for Picture, Tarantino for Director while Parasite just wins the International Film. But I'm thinking Bong wins Director.

Re: Best Director 2020
Do I think Bong should win Best Director? Yes. Do I think he will? No. I think Sam Mendes will for 1917 and Once Upon a Hollywood will win Best Picture, because it was kinda crappy and apparently people are covering themselves in jizz about it.

Re: Best Director 2020
After missing editing I highly doubt OUATIH wins BP. BD is the best chance for it.
