Two big shocks at the end, Rami Malek didn't surprise me. But Glen Close and Bohemian Rhapsody winning were shocks. What is the favorite for Best Picture now? Green Book? Roma, I guess? I suppose Black Panther could shock everyone and win too at this point. Finally, man the show was boring. Andy Sandberg and Sandra Oh had no chemistry and it didn't work. |

You mean that 90-second award presentation they did at last year's Golden Globes didn't translate to a three hour telecast?! But they were so funny together, especially when compared to 95% of awards presenters that are awkward, dull and not funny. I felt bad for both. Sandra Oh was like Anne Hathaway a few years ago. She seemed super excited at the chance to co-host an awards show, but she's out of her element. Andy Samberg is good, especially when paired with someone else, but the whole thing just felt thrown together. And further proves that we don't need a host for these, if the hosts are just going to be castrated and made to pander to the audience. At least the opening was largely politics free, although i didn't watch beyond the first hour. |
