Was the only other Mexican in the audience Guillermo (Kimmel)? One shot of him was absurd enough, but they cut to him twice.

But Kobe did not produce or direct that short. So he doesn't get the Oscar, surely..

He's holding one.

So I guess for short it goes to director and writer. Weird.

Yeah, I think if they could've found any excuse to not have him holding one they would've found it.

Coco deserves to be Best Picture. But at least they didn't try to get cute. Getting Best Song will be the make up win I think.

I think so far the Academy has made more or less the right choices. Dunkirk got two, Rockwell won, Darkest Hour got makeup.

Well Magnus is happy.

The academy really wasn't impressed by the Apes trilogy.

Can't believe none of the three Apes movies has won VFX.

I'm glad Blade Runner won effects. I thought for sure it was going to War as a culmination-like prize. It seems insane that not one of the films in the trilogy could win effects.

Blade Runner 2049 was the most Oscar-y of those visual effects nominees, so makes sense in that regard. Just a shame it was such a boring film. Also, now cinematography can go to Dunkirk :D :D

Big for Dunkirk. It was dead in the water if it lost editing.

No contest. Dunkirk was a masterclass in editing.

Given the way the film is constructed, it had to win editing. Does this mean it has a better chance at BP? Well, usually yes. But I don't see it yet. Although I am hopeful.

Three fucking OSCARS!!!! So happy

Baby Driver shouldn't even be in any of the nominations. It is so stupid to have it there.

Guillermo and Guillermo together! Dreams really can come true!

But this bit again (surprising unsuspecting people)...it was dumb last year and it's still dumb.

What happens when you win the Oscar. Is Rockwell sitting back in the audience holding it?

Much more expensive I bet. They will have to get a good amount of security to escort all these celebrities.

They couldn't even get the screening to be full? Good sign for A Wrinkle in Time.
