That La La one actually made me laugh out loud. That's my favorite of the spoof posters but they're all pretty good.

Arrival / Moonlight A+ La La Land A- Hell or High Water B+ Hacksaw Ridge B
I have a low interest in seeing the rest. I'm pretty sure I'd love Manchester but it's hard to get pumped to go see another dour movie. Arrival and Moonlight are spectacular choices for year's best but I won't be upset when La La Land wins BP (I will be slightly miffed when it wins absolutely everything, like 11+ Oscars).

My favourite was Godfellas.

I actually didn't find La La Land's poster very good, and I think Hacksaw Ridge's is an easy, lazy pop at Mel.

You should correct the image embed for the Jackie poster. It is not showing.

It's weird that Hacksaw Ridge isn't getting much of a re-release since the Best Picture nom. The closest theater it's playing in near me is in Rhode Island.

And I know that I will eventually lower Manchester By the Sea to C+/C territory because it is forgettable stuff.

Re: Rank 2017 Best Picture Nominees
I've only missed one. Hacksaw Ridge. Fairly strong crop this year though for the most part. My #2 film of the year is Manchester By The Sea period. And it's the best of the nominees. My #3 of the year is La La Land. So pretty impressive that two of my very favorites were nominated.
8. Fences ( F - This is my worst of the year. Completely excruciating to sit through. Great performances by the two leads but Denzel's character was so grating. Scenes were never-ending. It was laughably stereotypical. And don't even get me started on the character of his mentally-challenged brother. I felt like I was watching an SNL spoof of an Oscar movie.) 7. Hell or High Water ( B ) 6. Lion ( B ) 5. Arrival ( B+ ) 4. Moonlight ( A- ) 3. Hidden Figures ( A- ) 2. La La Land ( A ) 1. Manchester By The Sea ( A )

Re: Rank 2017 Best Picture Nominees
1. La La Land 2. Arrival 3. Manchester by the Sea 4. Hidden Figures 5. Hacksaw Ridge 6. Lion 7. Moonlight 8. Hell or High Water
Hacksaw Ridge - Compelling. A little too comically gory at times even if it was “realistic” (the two guys screaming at one another then getting shot in the head with the same bullet / one solider picking up another dead soldier’s torso and using it as a shield). Garfield’s nomination was earned.
Lion - Saw this months ago and just never posted my thoughts. In a nutshell: well done Oscar bait.
Moonlight - I wasn’t invested until a certain chair was smashed. And why was Ali nominated let alone a winner? Fine performance, but in hindsight it seemed like a pity win before everyone knew everyone else had also voted “Picture” for it. He’s also in the film for what, 20 minutes?
Fences just appeared on Amazon Prime so I’ll knock that one out soon.
