No director for Moonlight, La La Land is simply unstoppable.

That Supporting Actor lineup seems like what'll happen at the Oscars.

lol if Emily Blunt gets in. If Blunt and Huppert both somehow get in Actress the snub should be interesting lol.

I think BAFTA might have not seen Elle...?

They really, really loved Nocturnal Animals, yet no BP nom for it.

I'm a non-voting member in New York and it 100% screened for them. The only major releases this fall that didn't were Patriots Day and Live By Night (The Founder and Gold had screenings last month).

Nocturnal was one of the most popular and well-received BAFTA screenings I attended (they had to turn like 100 people away it was so overbooked) so the strong showing here doesn't surprise me.

I've read from multiple sources(including deadline and a tweet from the producer) that Elle was not eligible.

So Huppert wins next year I guess.

They still have never nominated Denzel.

That makes more sense. No way they would have completely snubbed Elle.

Post subject:  Re: BAFTA nominations

La La Land is unstoppable if even the Brits gave it 11 nominations here.

Poor Emily Blunt is probably going to miss the Oscars by very little again. If people had actually liked The Girl on the Train more she'd probably be a shoo-in.

Well, I, Daniel is definitely winning Outstanding British Film. So proud of my countrymen for nominating La La Land so much. I hope it can have a nice leggy run in the UK as well. I really want it to captivate the first quarter of this year, much like how Slumdog Millionaire did back in early 2009 and how Mamma Mia! did back in summer 2008.
