I'm still trying to forget it - it was like I'd stumbled into a feature length 60 Minutes segment.

La La Land is more memorable and rewatch able simply due to the musical numbers. Without them, you're probably right that it would be just about as forgettable.

Spotlight was much better than The Revenant.

Fury Road should have won. It was a pretty solid group of nominees though. I saw 7/8 and enjoyed them all.

1. The Martian
2. Bridge of Spies
3. The Revenant
4. Spotlight
5. Fury Road
6. Room
7. The Big Short

Room was easily the best but I loved Spotlight, The Revenant, and Fury Road.

Fury Road has become the most iconic movie of the 2010s

Agree, it was, I only saw 6 though, but they're fantastic.

The Big Short, The Martian, Bridge of Spies and The Revenant are notch above Fury Road and Room for me.

Creed should have gotten more love though, best film of 2016.

I mean maybe one of the most beloved, but certainly not one of the most "iconic".

It has been barely more than a year since that film's release and already a Disney movie is parodying it.

These days either you parody it within a year, or you don't. Mainstream memory fades quickly now...

The Big Short was the best.

Never saw the Revenant.

Leo di Caprio still owes Malaysia money. What a hypocrite.

another reason moonlight won't win - there's no way the academy will go for back-to-back "-light" titles winning best picture.

I do, however, remember The Big Short vividly.

Yeah. The talking head interviews were so fucking annoying.

The Big Short was the best film and should have won.

Of last year's BP nominees - I'd rank them:

1. The Big Short
2. The Revenant
3. Bridge of Spies
4. Fury Road
5. Spotlight

I should really see Room but dont think i can be bothered with The Martian.

As a fan of your top 3, the Martian is just as good for me. Watch it! :)
