Elle not making it is kinda shocking. Also surprised The Handmaiden is out. Toni Erdmann *should* win, but this category often doesn't go the way it *should*. I hope The Salesman wins, it is superb.

Elle's failure to make the cut should haven't an effect on Huppert getting a nom. The same thing happened to Two Days, One Night and Marion Cotillard still got nominated.

Wouldn't be surprised if A Man Called Ove won. Seems a comfy, Academy-friendly choice, and it did well in theatres for a tiny foreign film.
