La La Land will take Picture, Silence will win Scorsese his second Director Oscar.

2 films who's trailers left me quite put-off by both of them.

I hope Chazelle can take it. Or Washington.

I see a BP-BD win for La La Land, and I'm usually right about these things. ;)

Seems like Jenkins is going to be the possible Damien spoiler, not Scorsese.

Jenkins looks good in the Oscars So White apology year especially if Picture, Actor and Actress all go white. But La La Land does not seem like a film that should lose director

moonlight is going to be this year's critical darling that falters at the oscars, à la boyhood and the social network.

la la land is the exact type of film the academy loves and i doubt it's missing director if it wins picture. maybe moonlight can win screenplay.

I still think this is possibly. Scorsese is insanely overdue for his second Oscar. Once nominated for Silence, he will become the 2nd-most nominated director ever with 9 noms (William Wyler had 12), but only one win. Of the six other directors who were nominated seven times or more, only Woody Allen has also won only one BD Oscar. But Allen has won three Screenplay Oscars making him seem less overdue and he only got to seven BD noms and not nine.

Also, Silence is a huge passion project for Scorsese. A bit similar to Roman Polanski and The Pianist 14 years ago, when The Pianist won Best Director and Chicago won Best Picture.

Will the Academy really make Damien Chazelle the youngest Best Director winner ever, a record that has been held by Norman Taurog for 85 years?

Silence stars with 84/100 at MetaCritic

I think it can win Director, Adapted Screenplay and Cinematography/Art Direction maybe, while La La Land will get Picture, Actress, Song, Editing and maybe one or two Sound Oscars.

I don't think Scorsese is winning.
