Great prediction and one of those rare times Academy gets it right.

Moonlight was the best reviewed film of 2016 according to Rotten Tomatoes. Come on, how often has it happened that the critics' best film of the year also wins the Oscar for best film?

Hey Magnus!!!

2016: Spotlight
2017: Moonlight
2018: Fleshlight?

Your thoughts?

Flashlight definitely going to be my personal favorite of 2018.

Flesh with an e, not Flash.

It's in fact one of the best reviewed films of all time, according to Metacritic, with an average of 99 and 39 100s.

Since the academy went to preferential voting for BP, believe only The Hurt Locker was able to win the most awards while winning BP.

birdman tied grand budapest hotel with 4 each, the artist tied hugo with 5 each, and the king's speech tied inception with 4 each.

Yeah, should've said winning the outright most #. I do think preferential balloting makes BP a different animal than the rest. In most years it doesn't really matter since the result is unlikely to be close, but for this year and Spotlight and al12 Years of Slave, the 2nd/3rd choices probably made a difference.

I have to give credit where it's due to Magnus, lol. I was rooting for La La Land and it's honestly shocking it didn't win, leaving aside the dramatics and the messiness of what transpired.

I think Moonlight is an absolutely wonderful and important movie, though, so I'm very happy for it.

I was on the road and didn't get a chance to watch the Academy Awards broadcast this year, and only now just caught the clip of the ending on YouTube.

That is so delicious!

Moonlight still sucks and it would have lost if they had nominated one single black person the year before.

Then why didn’t Roma win last year?

Parasite is awesome. Roma is ok. Moonlight sucks.
