Actually he is a genius. Looking at the headlines in the film reporting, he just gave the film a ton of additional press out of, well, basically nothing. Just a phrase.

The bad publicity surrounding The Interview didn't help its box office fortunes. As Magnus said the other day, the cinema shooting in 2012 lost The Dark Knight Rises around $35m on opening weekend. There are countless cases that go against the any-publicity-is-good-publicity "rule".

Umm... The Dark Knight Rises shooting wasn't "publicity".

And The "bad" publicity around The Interview didn't hurt it, the studio being stupid hurt it. Movie theaters refusing to release it hurt it.

Bad or good, it doesn't matter. Darth said "ANY publicity is good publicity", but it wasn't in the examples I showed. Good publicity turns into $$$, and for The Interview it certainly didn't.

Yeah, I would be surprised if this DIDN'T get some attention at the MTV Movie Awards, and because of Paul Walker dying, it won't get nominated at the Razzies.

Right....except Fast Five and F&F6 didn't ger Razzie noms either, even though Walker was alive and well and the films got worse reviews than Furious 7.
