My predictions

1. Zootopia
2. Kubo and the Two Strings
3. The Red Turtle
4. Moana
5. Finding Dory

Zootopia is still the front runner. Some other foreign thing will probably knock out either Moana or Finding Dory.

I'd say Zootopia will probably win.

The Angry Birds Movie deserves it, but Kubo will win.

If Dory, Moana, and Zootopia all get in, I think they'll cannibalize each other and Kubo will squeeze away with the victory.

I think Sausage Party would've been a contender if it weren't for the exploited workers controversy.

I'm not a fan of Kubo myself, but at least it set out with some ambition.

The rest of this year's animated slate is pure unadulterated milquetoast (though I haven't see The Red Turtle yet and my expectations for Moana are slim to none).

Sausage Party is getting a major push from Sony. They had the cover of Variety's print edition this past week with an FYC ad.

I think Finding Dory is missing a nomination. Kubo, Zootopia and Moana will be the American films that get in. The Red Turtle should make it. So another foreign film should get the last slot.

There is no rule that there are 3 US nominees, LOL. Dory is getting in.

I would not be so sure. Red Turtle seems a likely pick and with Your Name receiving a qualifying run in the States, I think it is more than likely to get in as well. That leaves three slots open.

I could really see any of the three win. Zootopia seemed the front runner, but Moana is receiving a similar level of general reception, so it's possible the Disney vote could be split and Kubo could take it.

Dory is shit, and it is a sequel. It isn't getting in. It is so utterly uninspiring on a technical and creative level.

I agree with all of the above, except for the part about it getting in.

Sequels have a history of getting in and even winning. That's not a valid reason.

Dory is getting in. It's a great reviewed Pixar film starring Ellen and is about a disability.

If it gets in, Pixar paid a hell of a lot.

That's more like DWA to go and "buy" an Award because their movies don't get nominated.

Dory will not and should not make it in. Overrated

I'd think Sausage Party has a better chance than Dory.

This has to be the toughest year for this category in its history. I love it!

I'd say 2009 had the best slate of movies.

Up
Coraline
Fantastic Mr. Fox
The Princess and the Frog
The Secret of Kells
