You know what's striking? Not a single mention of either Munich or Walk the Line anywhere there. |

Dr. Lecter wrote: You know what's striking? Not a single mention of either Munich or Walk the Line anywhere there. I know, eh? They were probably the two most considered in terms of awards prospects a while ago. I'm just surprised that Walk the Line can't even garner the Best Actor/Best Actress nominations anywhere, that were such a sure bet. Poenix and Reese are getting practically no love whatsoever. What's going on? Munich didn't set the world on fire like I thought it would (so far at least). PEACE, Mike. |

Nice chart! Best actress is a total mess... Gotta love that! |

Ah, yeah, didn't see Reese up there. But you gotta admit that Phoenix really does not enjoy the same love and praise this year as Foxx did last year. Hoffman overshadows him now. |

Look at those consistent wins for Hoffman. Very impressive! I relly like how Lead Actress and Supporting Actor are totally up in the air. |

Munich got runner-up from Boston Film Critics for both BP, BD, and Best Screenplay. We should include runner-ups in the chart. |

You should put the Categories on the top going horizontal and the Award shows on the side going vertical... ![]() |

ChipMunky wrote: You should put the Categories on the top going horizontal and the Award shows on the side going vertical... ![]() Ya, that's how alot of these charts are printed. But it actually makes no difference; it's fine right now unless someone has a preference for reading vertically instead of horizontally on a chart! |

It's usually printed like that because there are SO MANY award shows. And if you put them horizontally it will stretch the page out a mile... ugh |

Munich looks a nomination not a win at this point, and Phoenix is out of the running for Best Actor. Its Hoffman versus Ledger. It lok slike Keener will get a nod, and wel the B. Actress cateogry is all over the place, expected though since it been such a weak year. Everything people saw as a lock earlier is just being thrown out the window. |

Better to change it now before the chart gets even more complicated, I;d fix it but I need to go edit andhand in my Advanced Computer Architecture Paper |

Phoenix will win Globe, while Ledger and Hoffman have to compete in the Drama category and try to knock each other off. That will level the field between Phoenix and whoever loses GG Drama, and whoever wins GG Drama will have a leg up in the race. One disadvantage Phoenix has comparing to Foxx is that he doesn't have a grandma to thank for. He needs to come up with something special when receiving the globe win. |

Yes, I knwo he sang, etc, that's beside the point, Hoffman did some seriosu work to. At this time last year, it was "Jaime Foxx, Jaime Foxx, Jaime Foxx." In fact, any time someone mentioned the Oscars you heard Jaime Foxx mentioned. All I am hearing now is "Hoffman" with some "Ledger" in there. Witherspoon has a much better shot of winning, the Phoenix for Oscar campaign that was so strong in November is gone. In fact the buzz for Walk the LIne is seriosuly diminshed, there is more buzz for Crash right nwo then Walk the Line. Phoenicx was the frontrunner a month ago, but alot changes in a month. Straithem also had more steam a month ago. Unless Phoenix starts to get some recognition I don't see it happening. |

Richard Gere won the globe and he didn;t even get nominated, hoenstly I think the Globes are on eo fhte most irrevelent awards shows out there, with their expanded actor and movie categories its bloody hard not to get nomiated. They nominated Phantom of the Opera, what a crap film. The globes often a ward peopel who don;t even get nominated. WHo wins in teh dramtic category is alot more important then Phoenix's win at the Globe swhen I think of no serious competition. |

The results so far bode well for the Best Actress race to come down between Keira Knightley and Reese Witherspoon since Vera Farmiga almost certainly won't be getting a nom and Huffman's film has garnered mixed reviews. |

Walk the Line is never expected to do that well with critic groups, at least not by me. I've said all along Hoffman will dominate BA awards. The box office and the good enough reviews will carry it to Ray's level with awards focusing on Reese. |
