Hidden Figures is definitely the only spoiler left. But if it won, what then? Would the LibTrolls be satisfied? Or do we then start retroactively awarding past oscars to movies without white people in them?

hidden figures has no chance to win - it's not nominated for director or editing.

Y'all are messy. La La Land isn't losing anything, even though Bradley Witherberry seems determined to troll it into existence.

Bradley is just doing his bit for Black History Month. Which is at least more than the black community is doing (not one black film released to capitalise).

LA Times: "This year’s final Oscar vote will be a referendum of sorts on Trump. Too bad for 'La La Land'.”

Bradley is trolling sure, but I have also seen comments like "Haven't seen La La Land. Won't pay to, ever. #Moonlight #Hidden Figures" on facebook. I'm sure twitter and reddit are also blowing up. There will be another oscars so white controversy if La la Land dominates.

OscarsSoWhite isn't going to stop La La Land from winning Best Picture. I'm sure that many Oscar voters will see the inevitable Viola Davis win (not to mention the probable win for Mahershala Ali and possible third career win for Denzel Washington) as a sufficient way of addressing the controversy of the last two years.

The "controversy" is bs, but the academy has enough new diverse members to ensure that actors of color are recognized.

Thankfully those idiots don't vote on which film wins the Oscar.

The strident faith of La La Land supporters sounds chilling similar to that of Hillary Clinton supporters in late October 2016. :noway:

Here's the typical La La Land supporter:

Yep. Just like it stopped Birdman, The Artist, Argo, The King's Speech, Slumdog Millionaire, and every other movie that had an unbelievable amount of momentum going into the Oscars.

I told ya'll it was happening.

There was no backlash, though. It was a political win.

The comparatively small size of the AMPAS voting body lends itself to be influenced by think-pieces which can (in the fast-moving age of social media) serve as the catalyst for such rapid shifts in voter sentiment that any past notion of precursor trends as binding precedent can only be considered moot at this point.
