Road House is a 1989 American action film directed by Rowdy Herrington and starring Patrick Swayze as a cooler at a newly refurbished roadside bar who protects a small town in Missouri from a corrupt businessman. Sam Elliott co-stars as a bouncer, the mentor, friend, and foil of Swayze's character. The cast also includes Kelly Lynch as Swayze's love interest and Ben Gazzara as the main antagonist.

Can't believe this didn't have a thread yet actually, a lovely, just still in the 80's action film. The style, the fashion, the soundtrack, the nudity, it's all pretty great and it's a very entertaining flick. I didn't realize Swayze passed in '09 already too actually, he was definitely a stud at the time this came out, and Lynch is quite possibly the hottest doctor ever in a film. So Swayze is really good and nice to see Elliot in this too, just towards the end it gets a bit much as it tries too hard to go out with a bang. But this does otherwise a really good job with the pace and story. It doesn't quite have the high end qualities to be an all-timer, but it's quite the classic film in it's own way.

B+

Yeah 80s classic. The acting overall is too bad to put it in a commando, but it’s amp up to ridiculousness makes it insanely rewatchable, but it is missing that extra something. I think point break is the other side of the coin. Much better film, swayze is great, but dam if Keanu doesn’t drag that films fun down. B+ for both.

Swayze sure had a nice run there though, red dawn, dirty dancing and of course ghost
