Wow this was really good and quite harrowing. It's sad that I don't even remember this happening back in 2008, but I didn't watch a lot of news back then anyways. The whole thing was just tragic and horrific and this movie never let up when it came to the tension or the suspense and what made it even more gripping is the fact that I had no idea who was going survive or die. Solid performances across the board, especially from Dev Patel, Armie Hammer and Nazanin Boniadi. I was even surprised a bit by Jason Isaacs character and how likable he ended up being.

I remember I wasn't impressed by this because what follows after the first half was not upto the mark. The longer it goes it didn't do very well in maintaining tension specially in middle half which was either repetitive or cliched terrorist movie tropes. It does get better in final stretch but only bearable. I didn't love Patel but Hammer and Boniadi had a good arc that kept things interesting throughout.
