USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage (also titled USS Indianapolis: Disaster in the Philippine Sea) is a 2016 American war film directed by Mario Van Peebles and written by Cam Cannon and Richard Rionda Del Castro, based largely on the true story of the loss of the ship in the closing stages of the Second World War. The film stars Nicolas Cage, Tom Sizemore, Thomas Jane, Matt Lanter, Brian Presley, and Cody Walker.

Post Re: USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage
It is 1945. The first half of the film is about a secret mission whereby the USS Indianapolis delivers the Atomic Bomb to the Philippines, and the second half is about that same ship being torpedoed by the Japanese, and 300+ men being rescued (though it feels more like 30 men) then the captain (Nicolas Cage) being court marshaled so the US government have someone to put the blame on.

There is a cool shot of a shark brushing past Cage as he's just been thrust into the water by an explosion. It must have been a real shark. But apart from that the film is crap. Bad acting all around. The characters are so annoying that you want the sharks to eat them all! Cage and Tom Sizemore give pretty bad performances, but Thomas Jane isn't so bad, though he's hardly in it. The film doesn't feel like a star vehicle despite having a few known names. It feels very much like they grabbed a bunch of typical dumb American high school jock types and told them to read what it says on the paper. Not one could act.
