Quote:
Avengers: Infinity War is a 2018 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to 2012's Marvel's The Avengers and 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, and the nineteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with a screenplay by the writing team of Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and features an ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Josh Brolin, and Chris Pratt. In Avengers: Infinity War, the Avengers join forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy to stop Thanos from amassing the all-powerful Infinity Stones.

The film was announced in October 2014 as Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1. The Russo brothers came on board to direct in April 2015 and by May, Markus and McFeely signed on to write the script for the film, which drew inspiration from Jim Starlin's 1991 "The Infinity Gauntlet" comic and Jonathan Hickman's 2013 "Infinity" comic. In July 2016, Marvel shortened the title to Avengers: Infinity War. Filming began in January 2017 at Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Fayette County, Georgia, and lasted until July 2017, shooting back-to-back with a direct sequel. Additional filming took place in Scotland, England, the Downtown Atlanta area and New York City. With an estimated budget between $300–400 million, it is one of the most expensive films ever made, and the most costly in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.[6]

Avengers: Infinity War held its world premiere on April 23, 2018 in Los Angeles, and is scheduled to be released in the United States on April 27, 2018, in IMAX and 3D. The sequel is scheduled to be released on May 3, 2019.

Why is the review thread in site announcement section ? I would rather have the predictions thread(s)/club(s) instead.

Because it's a huge movie? Ask the box office mod to sticky that one. I can't help you with that.

This will just be until the end of the weekend. Then it will go back to just a sticky.

Well hasn't been done before and if something deserved this kind of bump I was thinking the past two SW movies should have gotten in as well. But I guess its a start. I'd say you should keep it for the whole first week while many reviews/discussions happen and the thread feels relevant. One more thing you should mention somewhere that there might be spoilers cause I am not sure people will stop posting spoilers in this thread because it is on the wall.

Some great moments but it feels wickedly disjointed. Marvel's worst movie since The Dark World.

Age of Ultron is easily better than Infinity War.

When Disney pushed this up a week a month ago, my first thought was this would not have very good audience reception. Let's see if my gut is right.

You’re not a contrarian if there’s no popular opinion to run contrary against.

Just watched it and yes it feels disjointed, the amount of cast seems to have finally caught up with the directors. Still this isn't AoU or Dark World. The action is insane and is brilliant. The story building is good but rushed. More thoughts later but it is definitely not the upper tier MCU product but audience will eat it up. There are no major "deaths" but a lot of Avengers "die" in the end.

Does the movie address Black Widow and Hulks hideous romance?

Makes Nolans TDKT all the more impressive. Marvel really never will recapture the magic of Avengers 2012 before the cast splits. Saddening.

They reunite but leave things to discuss later. There is no time to get back to them.

“Hi, Bruce” “Nat” is pretty much the only non-Thanos character beat in the whole film.

I thought the last Spidey scene was also very good.

The popular opinion is that MCU films are decent.

Uh. WTF.

See this is why I don't get Marvel fans or you Internet dudes.

I thought it was like the best Marvel movie yet hahaha.

It's definitely leagues better than Ultron, the entire Cap series, IM2&3, Thor and the Incredible Hulk. Also Homecoming.

It's a closer call comparing it to the original Avengers and Black Panther. But it's also better than Iron Man.

You'd think that when Marvel made an actual crowdpleaser its fans or "fans" or whatever would enjoy it. Instead they cream themselves over sub-par offering like Captain America & Homecoming, bigging those up to be classics or deep or some other BS.

Anyway, IW2 has already been filmed, so I hope the Russos/Marvel deliver what I want from it. It's gonna make money from the crybabies anyway. Too bad if you all don't like it.

I'm shocked at the negativity. I loved this. Fantastic action, GREAT villain (Brolin is awesome, and there are moments you can see a good actor was needed for the role), character interaction is really fun, and the movie does not feel as long as it is, at all.

4.5/5 A

How is everyone seeing this? I didn't think it came out until 27th. Even with previews the night before, you've all still seen it at least a day early.
