Submergence is a 2017 internationally co-produced romantic thriller film directed by Wim Wenders, based on the novel of same name by J. M. Ledgard. The film stars Alicia Vikander and James McAvoy.

Its a slow burner which I generally don't mind but the end comes out flat. The final connection that the director was trying to show for the leads was disconnecting, I'd rather that the film ended with the two meeting in real life. Vikander looks REALLY hot in this and McAvoy's torture scenes are brutal, both leads do well here but the script doesn't showcase their chemistry which is film's biggest fault.
