Post Re: Little Evil
In this Omen parody, nervous real-estate agent Gary (Adam Scott) realizes his inability to bond with his new stepson is justified...because the child is the Antichrist. It is not a bad concept for a step-parenting comedy, and Scott is an amiable leading man, but this is a very mediocre and slight film. The horror elements are so sanitized and restrained as to be almost nonexistent—this is not an American Werewolf- or Shaun of the Dead-style fusion excelling in both genres—and laughs are few and far between. The film simply sits there for an hour and a half, not unpleasant, not particularly clever or interesting.

I found it boring and the boy playing Lukas was a horrible actor. Adam Scott adequately performed a boring nothing of a character saddled with dullness as his only defining character trait (I've always liked Scott, fyi, and continue to do so--this was simply a nothing character).

The only saving grace was Bridget Everett as AL. I found my mind wandering while watching to imagining a similar movie starring Everett's AL trying to assist her new buddy, the Scott character, take out his devil child before he destroys the world. I enjoyed that fake movie I made up, though, so I guess I owe its existence to Little Evil...

After a promising trailer, I'll probably be skipping it because of these tepid reviews.
