Weak, with only a few scattered laughs from Charlie Day's manic energy. Glad I didn't actually pay to see it. D+

Yeah this was pretty bad which is a shame because the material is there, but they go for the most predictable jokes ever. Charlie Day and Ice Cube play the same characters from past, much better comedies and the supporting cast doesn't fair any better either with maybe the exception of Dean Norris who has some of the funnier scenes in the movie. The actual fight at the end is surprisingly well done and kind of fun, but by that point is was already too little too late.

This wasn't entirely bad but it needed better screenplay. Day and Cube do justice to the characters we have probably seen before in many movies but the supporting cast where the jokes should have come harder are just not up for it. Its pretty dry for a comedy other than the one liner titular joke. Charlie Day deserves better than this.

5/10

Fist Fight is one of those films that feel so meaningless in their existence. It's terribly unfunny for the most part. While it wants to bring forward a funny take on the concept of a looming fist fight between teachers, it's result is just staple like any other attempt of a comedy. Tracy Morgan and Jillian Bell are nice in supporting roles though and the actual fight at the end is fun to watch too, but it was a dull endeavor before getting there. One redeemable strength is its pacing, the run time is and feels compact at just 90 min.
