Quote: Why Him? is a 2016 American romantic comedy film directed by John Hamburg, written by Hamburg and Ian Helfer and stars James Franco, Bryan Cranston, Zoey Deutch, Megan Mullally, Griffin Gluck and Keegan-Michael Key. The film follows a dad who gets into a feud with his daughter's new boyfriend.

Re: Why Him? They really under-utilized Cranston here and the expected changed of heart isn't organic or heartfelt here. Franco does a really good job here but most of his jokes fall flat. Cranston does make good of the weak character that he has been provided. The rest of the cast are game too, specially loved the drugged mother bit a lot.
When it hits the tones its a laugh riot, but overall the ending really pales to the setup earlier.

Why Him?
How can you possibly make a film SO unfunny? Every joke lands with a thud. Cranston should be embarrassed at agreeing to do this and James Franco is aggravating.

Re: Why Him? IDK, I thought this was enjoyable. Franco played his irritating character pretty well. The last third of the film was very mehhhhhhhhhh and it was overlong. But I laughed.
