Ballerina (marketed as From the World of John Wick: Ballerina) is a 2025 American action thriller film and the fifth installment in the John Wick franchise, serving as a spin-off set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) and John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023). It is directed by Len Wiseman and written by Shay Hatten and stars Ana de Armas in the lead role, alongside Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Norman Reedus in supporting roles. Among those reprising their roles from the previous films include Anjelica Huston, Lance Reddick (in his final screen appearance), Ian McShane, and Keanu Reeves.

Post Re: Ballerina
Much better than I was expecting, in every way. As a spinoff from Wick, it's great, fits right into the world created by it and especially the timing too, set during and after Wick 3. The casting of De Armas is excellent, just like Keanu she is perhaps not the most natural actor, but the way she's physical in the role works very well. The action is very good overall, but it stands out too with how it deals with a woman fighting men, she mostly uses guns and her environment to get the better of her opponents and the believability makes it more entertaining too. Additionally the film uses nice sets and locations, expanding the Wick universe even more and the score in Wickian mold is good too. Further more, the girl cast as as a young De Armas is just perfect looks wise. Also love Byrne as the villain and lastly, the way it uses Wick himself couldn't have done better I feel.
So really, its pretty much all positives. It's not quite at the level of seeing Keanu as Wick at work and doesn't have as strong of a back story either. But applying a female character this way, in this world, it's about as good of a spinoff and female lead action film I've seen.

B+
