Trolls
Quote: Trolls is a 2016 American 3D computer-animated musical buddy comedy film based on the dolls of the same name by Thomas Dam. The film is directed by Mike Mitchell (and co-directed by Walt Dohrn) and written by Jonathan Aibel, Glenn Berger and Erica Rivinoja.
The film stars the voices of Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Zooey Deschanel, Russell Brand, James Corden and Gwen Stefani and revolves around two trolls on a quest to save their village from destruction by the Bergens, creatures who devour trolls. Produced as the 33rd animated feature by DreamWorks Animation, the film premiered on October 8, 2016 at the BFI London Film Festival,[6][3] and is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 4, 2016, by 20th Century Fox.

Re: Trolls
Really enjoyed it. It's nothing new but it's fun and spirited and well-animated. The musical numbers are mostly a delight, and there's really strong vocal work from Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Zooey Deschanel and Christine Baranski. The visuals are pretty creative and it moves along at a fast pace. It lacks the subversiveness of Pixar or something of that sort, but it's a solid family film that should be a popular choice among younger audiences over the next few weeks. B

Re: Trolls
I may raise my rating a tad. Even though Zootopia is technically the 'better' movie, it's overrated and I had more fun with this.

Re: Trolls
Can people be banned for using stupid, inappropriate "disses" from the late 90s?

Re: Trolls
DreamWorks Animation continues to fall behind, and is pretty much back to its years of mediocrity from the early/mid-2000s. Quite disappointing after a solid 5/6 year streak of stepping up their game.
Trolls is simply okay, and quite forgettable. The animation is at least unique, perhaps even creative at times, but that's all that the film has going for it. C+.

Such a safe animated movie done on a most basic DWA movie blueprint. Mediocre in every aspect.

Re: Trolls
Trolls is Dreamworks best Original film since Rise of the Gusrdians. The film is funny, has a decent story, great villains, relatable heroes, and a great soundtrack. Literally just a feel good film in every aspect. It did feel a little too juvenile at points, but it was very good otherwise.

Re: Trolls
Trolls has a good score/songs and a lot of heart with some creativity in visuals but its overall still just a regular animated affair where everything goes by the book. There is not much emotional touch in the movie aside from maybe "True Colors" though it is overall still very enjoyable movie.

Re: Trolls
For the majority of the runtime, this was thoroughly mediocre, filled with flat jokes and covers of pop songs. But its really all just set up for "Can't Stop The Feeling" and Trolls totally nails that sequence. I just love how they beat thebad guys by giving them exactly what they wanted. It might not be that much of a better movie, but I sure left feeling better than with something hollow like Secret Life of Pets.

Totally. given the choice between Trolls and SLOP, I'd pick Trolls immediately.

Re: Trolls
Its a shame that RT scores for Trolls and SLOP ended up being same and their BO so very different. Trolls is one of Dreamworks better efforts recently.

My Godson will just be glued whenever this is on. It's pure heaven, so can't really knock it. This and Sing are the two they go nuts for. As for me having to watch it in the background maybe 3 times a week, you could do a lot worse. Some decent songs in there too.
