Overall, this is not my favorite film of the Renaissance, but it's still very good. I would probably like it better if the characters sang the songs instead of Phil Collins. I just really like the Broadway feel of the earlier films of the 90's, and this does not have that. But the characters are endearing (especially Terk and Tantor), the animation is gorgeous and the story is pretty good.

Tarzan is the most underrated of Disney's 90's animated movies. I enjoyed Minnie Driver's performance as Jane, she made the romance with Tarzan come alive. Phil Collins wrote and performed a great soundtrack. I've seen this adaptation of Tarzan a dozen times and never get tired of it! *A+*

I wasn’t expecting much, but Tarzan surprised the heck out of me. Stands tall with all of the best classics. And Phil Collins > broadway musicals. But I think I would have enjoyed it just as much with traditional songs. Hits all the right notes about the families you choose and don’t choose.

It's solid but instantly forgettable

This one clearly feels like it should have songs in it. Not Phil Collins background music. Other than that, it’s brought down by a relatively low stakes conflict and weak villain. The stuff with the gorillas is definitely the strong point. Not a favorite but certainly a technical marvel for its time.
