The conspiracy is how they made screwed up in putting together a coherent movie with the likes of Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts. The 5 minute flashing light sequence did not help either.

Grade C- (for Roberts, otherwise, it is a F)

Indeed, a somewhat underrated flick. Mel Gibson really delivers here and the chemistry between him and Julia Roberts is great. The villain is unfortunately pretty one-dimensional and the movie's conclusion is very predictable, but other than that it's a really good thriller with unexpected turns and twists in the plotline.

An exciting thriller with a great performance by Gibson. The story is intriguing, the acting is fantastic, and the pace never lets up. Definitely underrated.

The paranoia of Gibson's Jerry is absolutely a treat to watch. This once agian shows that although Gibson was known for more action oriented roles, he truly was in the leagues of Robin Williams, Tom Hanks. The supporting cast was good too and the story never got boring. I love Richard Donner Gibson collaborations, loved Maverickk, Lethal Weapon, and hopefully Sam and George will be good too.

I wasn't sure if I saw this before, only remembered it ever so vaguely as a film where Gibson played a taxi driver. So I just saw it again and it's a very cool film with two great leads. The revelation at the end is not the type of big conspiracy I was expecting, but along the way there are some great moments. In general Gibson's character is great with his perspective on things and conspiracy views and also the initial hunt for him with choppers dropping units in the city and the chase on motorbikes is pretty cool. And the escape from his apartment as well as how Roberts finds out about a certain department that just the next day or something completely clears the floor are solid motions in the story. Donner has made a bunch of good films and this is easily one of them.

Agreed, I harken Mangold to the tier of the criminally underrated Donner, who I think always deserves a mention on great directors list. The the influence he’s had across genres is pretty much unmatched.

Doesn't land the ending but damn Mel Gibson is SO GOOD in here. I wonder why he was never nominated for this. Julia Roberts is pretty much wasted but she has a good chemistry with Gibson. Strewart's character is pretty one-dimensional and the final mystery resolution is not very convincing. It keeps you interested throughout and its directed very well but at the end I feel its just another thriller that had the potential to be great.
