Re: Side Effects While I didn't find the story very original, I love Soderbergh's film style. Supported by a very good cast I enjoyed it quite a lot.

Side Effects
Superb film. Steven Soderbergh is on another level, and might be my favourite director (definitely in my top three). It doesn't seem to matter what he touches, he makes such compelling drama. Contagion, The Knick, Ocean's Twelve, Haywire ... now I just need to watch Magic Mike.
Side Effects is beautifully shot, aurally stunning, and just gripping from start to finish. You think it is about something then it evolves into something else. Such irresistible escapism. Rooney Mara is tremendous - she had me fooled. Jude Law is the most reliable actor living today. Always gives charming, down-to-earth performances. And Catherine Zeta-Jones is a standout in a small but vital role. Soderbergh rightfully uses Tatum sparingly as his limited ability shows even here, but it does not negatively affect the final product.

Re: Side Effects Biggest one is you might not be able to sleep over how mediocre the film is. It's a lifetime movie of the week with a little edge. I now know why Steven fake retired.
