Trick 'r Treat
Trick 'r TreatQuote: Trick 'r Treat is a 2007 American dark comedy/horror film written and directed by Michael Dougherty, and based on his short film Season's Greetings. Originally slated for an October 5, 2007 release, it was announced in September 2007 that the film had been pushed back. Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures released the film direct to DVD and Blu-ray on October 6, 2009 in North America, October 26 in the UK and October 28 in Australia.

TRICK 'R TREAT - 7/10 ( B )
I love Halloween, and I love horror movies, but this was a letdown. The atmosphere and colors are so wonderful, but the storylines weren't all that engaging. I especially didn't like the Brian Cox storyline. I thought the "wolfing out" scene was quite cool. That was probably my favorite part in the movie. And despite being kind of disappointed with the movie, I still would have liked to have seen a sequel, which doesn't seem likely now that this got dumped Direct-to-DVD.
I enjoyed it, will watch it again someday, and will even buy it eventually, but I still expected more. I guess my expectations were just too high after hearing nothing but fantastic things about it. I still think it should have gotten a theatrical release, but I don't believe audiences would have been that crazy about it. I think it would have done very well at the Box Office though.

Wonderfully fun movie that's absolutely loaded with all-Halloween-all-the-time in every frame. It wasn't especially scary, but it was more concerned with the general Halloween spirit than hardcore frights or anything. Lots of familiar faces in there, which helps, as most of the characters are rather simple so actors who can act are good.
This'll be yearly Halloween viewing, for sure.

Very good. Brilliant-written. Each story has one thing in common; good twist. B+

Re: Trick 'r Treat
Huge disappointment for me, made no since at all. I liked the settings and slight premise, but it just seemed to be pointless killing and not very imaginative at that. It definatley doesn't belong in the same sentence as Creepshow.

Call it a generational thing but CREEPSHOW kicked ass and Trick 'r Treat is sort of a knockoff, but again that's alright before you bite my head off.. Adrienne Barbeau's Breast's kicked ass and the one with the monkey in the crate ruled the world..

Re: Trick 'r Treat
Those ratings are a little biased right now as creepshow has been out for almost 30 years, Let's see what Trick r Trick is a year from now once more people have a chance to view it.
Creepshow can also be viewed by any age group. can't say the same about Trick r Treat
TRT just can't compete with these memorable moments from creepshow-
Fathers Day-Where's... my cake? I... want... my... cake! Where's my cake, Bedelia? Where's my Father's Day cake? I want my cake you dirty BITCH! I'm going to have it!
Meteor- When Jordy cant take the itching anymore jumps in the water then blows his head off
Beach tide- The ending with the husband buried in the sand just like he did his victims
The Crate and the Roaches - is just great all around

Re: Trick 'r Treat
I have no doubt that Trick 'R Treat's ratings will go down, but the difference, especially at RT is way too significant to be ignored. Obviously it is up to everyone's personal taste, but Creepshow, unlike several other classic horror movies is dated and I also liked that unlike the Creepshow tales the stories in Trick 'R Treat are interwoven in a nice way.

Re: Trick 'r Treat
I agree Creepshow is dated as well as a lot of horror classics, but the thing that bugs me most about TrT is that it's been sitting around for 2 years at the studio because of all the mixed screenings most of which were bad. Then all of a sudden we get this viral campaign telling us how good it is right before the DVD release. If it's so good why didn't the studio release it in theaters even with a limited release?

I read of very positive test screenings over a year ago.
