Quote:
Mercury Rising is a 1998 American action thriller film starring Bruce Willis and Alec Baldwin. Directed by Harold Becker, the movie is based on Ryne Douglas Pearson's 1996 novel originally published as Simple Simon. Willis plays Art Jeffries, an undercover FBI agent who protects a nine year old boy with autism who is targeted by government assassins after cracking a top secret government code.

An alright thriller. A bit of a letdown, but still decent.

Is this one of the worst films of Bruce Willis's career? I'd have to say yes.

And now to remove the last vestiges of it from my brain with cutting tools!!

Yeah this and The Jackel were pretty big let downs. Alec Baldwin as the villian really did nothing.

Mercury Rising

I absolutely love Mercury Rising. Fantastic thriller. Bruce is good, Baldwin is good, and Miko Hughes is fantastic for a child. I caught the first half on Chinese TV a few weeks ago and it reminded me how much I love it. Back to Bruce; he had a superb 90s track record. This, The Jackal, Armageddon, Color of Night, Die Hard with a Vengeance, Pulp Fiction, The Last Boy Scout, Striking Distance, and Last Man Standing - great load of films.

B+

I can't believe this film, still rather obscure, was on Chinese TV. But back in the 90's when I saw it, I enjoyed quite a bit too, solid film.
