While he was good I just don't think Luke Evans was Oscar worthy, he was great in all songs but Stevens comes out the best in "Evermore" which is what I believe can get into Oscars.

Have plans to see this again this weekend. It's still my favorite movie of the year (for sentimental reasons, but who cares )

Re: Beauty and the Beast (2017)
I thought this was fine, but The Beast and Belle were my least favorite things about it. I've always liked Emma Watson and she's good in the role, but I just wasn't all that invested in there romance and its cool Dan Stevens was in this even for a little bit, but I did not like the overly CGI and cartoony look of The Beast himself.
My favorite parts of this movie were easily the gorgeous visuals and production design, espceially those shots of The Castle at night with the snow in the background and Luke Evans as Gaston who was a pretty great villain IMO. The bit where the towns people invade the castle was probably my favorite setpiece as well.
The songs were fine, but none of them really stood out to me and the rest of the supporting characters were just kind of there, but I liked the voices that they did get, especially Ian McKellen, Emma Thompson and Ewan McGregor. Josh Gad being Josh Gad annoyed the hell out me though.
Kevin Kline was a nice addition as well.
