Little Mermaid's multiplier would get Stitch to 130m for 3 days, 160m 4 days, but maybe it can be a bit more weekend centric.

My theory is try to use Memorial Day movie to compare to Memorial Day movie. Alladin (2019) had $7 million previews that led to opening weekend of $91 million, a multiple of 13. The Little Mermaid (2023) had $10.3 million previews that led to a $95.6 million opening weekend, a multiple of 9.28. Inside Out 2's Thursday preview occurred June 13, 2024, when many schools were already closed for summer.
My second question is what character drives fans to see the movie: Lilo (young girl), Stitch (alien), or Nani (Lilo's older teenage sister). The advantage that Alladin and The Little Mermaid have is that the main character is a teenager: Alladin and Ariel. Lilo on the other hand is younger than a teenager. For this reason I believe (and it shows in my prediction for the bi-monthly contest) that Lilo and Stitch will have a multiple less than 9.28. My prediction is Lilo and Stitch will have a 3 day gross below $130 million.

no chance for Lilo to go that low. Q is if its hitting 150m or not. Presales are very strong for the weekend. We will know based on walkups today.

Charlie is saying 55m for Lilo and 24.5m for MI8 including previews. Lilo is behaving like Mermaid past 2 days than family flicks. Its presales were double of IO2/Mine a week back and now its going to fall short of both movies OW. Still really good. I am seeing 175-180m for Lilo and 75m ish for MI8. MI8 got screwed due to Lilo dominating the plexes. it has fewest showtimes among 50m+ openers that I remember in a long time.

Wait MI's budget is FOUR hundred million?

Seems decent for Friendship, nice to see a new comedy get word of mouth.

Hopefully they double the theater count this weekend. It's not like anything else is coming out.

Sinners with fairly low ratio of 79 million internationally to 261 domestically. The Peele movies also were largely appealing to domestic.

The Amateur 95 worldwide on 60 million budget isn't amazing but is probably acceptable considering middle aged guys can stream it.

The Amateur could have easily been a 10-15m grosser as it seems to be the stuff of streaming these days.
