Feels pretty mediocre for Trap considering the concept was good coming a year after the Eras tour. The Hartnett-aissance is cool but realistically Gen Z probably only knows him as the guy in Oppenheimer.

Guess the box office streak had to end eventually. Did Trap need a bigger star in it? Mark Wahlberg maybe?

Harold bombing surprises no one. Back to television for you, Zach Levi.

Unimpressive number for Trap. Hopefully it's a leggy hit

Thinking a 28m Friday for Deadpool and 95m weekend for 55% drop.

Anything sub 60 for Deadpool indicates good WOM, so that’s good.

Finish in the 550-600 range most likely

Next week Borderlands is taking big chunk of Imax/PLF shows and then Alien takes most the week later. That would be a bigger hit on Deadpool. But I agree with Zwackerm on where its ending. Probably tad above 600m as Disney will push for the benchmark.

I think IO2 still has Jurassic World domestic in sight. That would take it to Top 10 domestic and hopefully ahead of TLK 2019 WW.

I'm seeing Trap tonight, honestly was expecting it to be a smash hit based on the trailer. Shayamalan films are odd in general so keen to see what he did with this cause the premise was very good.

Deadline is saying 35-40m budget for Trap. Seems bit too high.

With horror movies that doesn't matter too much as long as you have a cool concept and strong advertising.

Shyamalan movies just don't do great anymore. Attaching his name to his daughter's turd earlier this year doesn't help. Many people will consider that an M Night Shyamalan movie since his name was plastered all over the ads.

All things considered, I think Trap is doing fine.

For some reason it reminds me of Red Eye. That was another straight-forward thriller released in August, also with someone that was in Oppenheimer (that's not saying much since everyone was in that). Red Eye opened to 16.167 Million unadjusted, and went on to gross 57.859. I'm not sure Trap will have the legs that Red Eye had, but I'm sure they will be fine given the lack of competition in August. Red Eye had a B CinemaScore. I'm feeling Trap getting either a C+ or B-. Old opened around the same amount Trap is appearing it will open. That did 48+, so I think it's safe to say Trap should at least reach 50.

Weak for Trap. Was expecting much more.

Unfortunate for Crayon.

$29M Friday for Deadpool would be outstanding. Disney only had two films open over $100M last year and now they are back to getting $100M on the second weekend.

Who (seriously) argued that modern day Josh Hartnett is a draw? His name and story have been all over the PR scene for the last 2 weeks, though, and his performance has been very positively received. Another solid role for him in the future and he will be noteworthy. If in 2 months, they announced he was cast as Mr. Freeze in the Batman 2, for example, it would be very noteworthy.

A 37% Friday to Friday drop for Twisters. It's starting to stabilize.

Taking 370 mil R rated record to 600+ is such an obliteration. This will probably stand another 20 years.

Hopefully Captain America and Thunderbolts will benefit from the goodwill of this, albeit on a smaller scale

Trap opened with slightly lower OD than Old. Too bad the movie wasn't great. Probably will barely get to 40m.

Great #s for holdovers. If Deadpool beats Barbie's 2nd weekend it'll be right below Inside Out's 2nd weekend on the all time 2nd weekend. 2 600m films for the summer for Disney, wow.

Charlie saying Deadpool 38m+ Saturday and 98m+ weekend, 53% drop or less. Wtf lol

Not to add insult to injury to excel, but trap probably did better because kids needed to sneak into Deadpool and Wolverine, also more than the wom. To pass POTC in 10 days to break a 20 year old record is MOG.

It’s very crowd pleasing and rewatchable due to all the references. You definitely feel like you missed something if you only watch it once.
