Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire- 35m

Big flop with a sub 100m total.

Dune and Panda will hold well despite Ghosbusters

its definitely petering out at this point. 4ish previews and low to mid 30s OW is most likely scenario.

Ghostbusters looks to either just pass $100m or fall short slightly.

This would have been perfect for January or February.

I had this one has underwhelming but apparently it could actually be really good!

I'm expected disappointing opening day but better WOM for better Sat/Sun and better legs than expected over it's run. Other than Godzilla/Kong, could have some later run legs since April is lighter to pull a respectable recovery after an underwhelming OW.

Isn’t it tracking as high as 49 million as of last week? I think the last one did really well with kids, so I think it can definitely do better than the last two.

Curious how Immaculate will do. Sydney Sweeney and horror seems good for a decent opening.

I'm thinking Ghostbusters breaks out and hurts Godzilla X Kong a little.

$45.5m

Its kind of funny we have 3 pandemic sequels so close to each other, obviously Godzilla and dune should over perform more but afterlife came out when the cases were sky rocketing again with the new variant, but was well received.

It is a bit eerie seeing the Covid sequels this month considering the full lockdown started this week. Some noteworthy movies:

-Bad Boys 4 and Sonic 3 coming out later this year and more or less won the year 2020 since they opened so early in the year.
-Birds of Prey from Feb. 2020 and Joker 2 later this year with a new Harley Quinn iteration.
-Deadpool 3 with Xmen. Last Xmen universe movie was New Mutants in 2020.
-Quiet Place prequel post Quiet Place 2.
-Godzilla ($48M 5day hugely impressive to pull that off in those circumstances).
-Dune 1
-Ghostbusters Afterlife

Also, Raya making $54M opening in March 2021 was a big deal in hindsight. A follow up could certainly be big. Also, where is that Encanto sequel at? That's a $400M bonanza there.

47% RT is not what Ghostbusters needed lol.

I'll go with a still decent $36M and weak legs.

Not sure if this is the type of thing people go for anymore, but I'm predicting they combine the recent Ghostbusters casts for the next one.

Does anyone have any update on tracking for it?

Really seems no one cares but some people were floating around high 40s low 50s tracking early this week.

I am still seeing previews in low 4s and OW probably high 30s. Definitely not hitting the tracking that Deadline had put out last week(was that 50m OW).
