This is more success by desperation. Any other film in normal times has to deal with arguably the worst 2nd weekend of any year. That's why horror movies are usually pretty good. No one really bats an eye at a film dropping 69% when most usually drop in the low to mid 60s, and they get an extra day with the holiday. They should go higher profile horror or action though. Can totally see the third Halloween go back in here, but I like that they're actually trying to release Halloween films you know "around Halloween" again.

Re: Which movie should open Labor Day weekend 2022? I think there was less summer movie fatigue this year, it's only been 60 days since Black Widow opened. They should have scheduled more movies in September.

Re: Which movie should open Labor Day weekend 2022? I still don't think this is an apt comparison and Marvel movies have shown to strive all over the calendar. Other franchises might not do as well plus the second weekend hold is yet to be seen, again MCU might define the odds because their core audience is HUGE at this point.
