Originally estimated at 20 million for the Snyder Cut and no reshoots, it's now getting one week of reshoots and will up the budget to currently 70 million, Snyder must have finally watched the theatrical version and realized it wasn't all that different.

WTF, WB is off their rocker.

It looks like a completely different film. I highly doubt we will see much of the previous film. I think it will so radically different that calling it Synder's cut will not make any sense. It almost twice the size of original movie and now costs a hefty $70m so it should be called Justice League: Reboot or something.

The whole point of this facade was to sell HBO Max. There is no way its released in theaters. Also its runtime is exhaustive for today's standards to make money in theatres, plus the current climate is even worse.

And WB is indeed stupid to spend so much money on this. It's not like BVS was directed by someone else and while that made money it was the cause for JL's failure.

You got a better chance of scrapping Pattinson, reworking them as flashbacks, and bring back Affleck to finish The Batman

I can’t wait for this Snyder Cut to get released so I can stop coming across stories about it. I imagine part of the price tag was to get the actors to come back. Pretty sure they weren’t still contractually committed to the film.

It's not a tweet here and there. There was a full trailer for this. There are multiple articles regarding the controversy surrounding it. I feel its typical marketing for a movie rather than something going VOD.

Maybe in Superhero genre but I don't think it's unusual specifically in VOD world to have something made that fans have demanded for long time.

they'll make their money back from HBO MAX subscription and Blu Ray/4K sales (DC material tends to sell well on home video)

Well that's the problem with just reading a single sentence from Wikipedia. That's with all the projected profits from DVD, VOD, etc. Though that article was dated, based on the data, JL brought the final losses closer to 75-100 million, after the initial final cost jumped from 450 million to 575 million.

I'd say $60m loss is the right number specially because its sales with VOD for extended cut seemed robust.

Jared Leto is returning as the Joker. Looks like we’ll get Robins death, maybe they’ll work him into the Lex and Deathstroke scene as well. Joe maganiello already said he had shot other stuff.

I don't know it looks pretty dam messy. Looks like they pulled a lot from BVS outtakes as well. Leto is kind of a shoulder shrug.
