Emma is just 90 theaters over this weekend. Wide the following. 30+ for Invisible Man. |

Depp is gonna be great in this. And now that his name has been cleared maybe they can finally start advertising him? It looks like the best performance from an actor since Brad Pitt in Deadpool 2. I’m not feeling a breakout though. It’s definitely a fresh take on the story, but we’ve seen a dozen horror movies flop already this year as well as one about escaping the clutches of a psycho ex boyfriend. I’ll give it $20.5M as people continue to wait for Quiet Place 2. |

I'm really hoping The Invisible Man breaks out with how fucking awful this year has been for horror, but I don't know if I see $30M happening unless either walk-ups are big or reviews are great. I'm thinking it will end up closer to the low-mid 20's which would still be pretty damn good IMO. |

As I said in last week's prediction thread, Invisible man has mediocre PS outside few Imax/Dolby shows in big plexes. To me it is showing no signs of huge breakout. of course with good reviews it could still have a good OW. Let us see where things stand next thursday. |

At the bottom it has estimates for next weekend and it's 90. My theater and quite a few others have presales up for the following Thursday so that will be its actual wide release. The Numbers definitely needs to update their release schedule in addition to keeping it up better. You really can't swear by it. A lot of times they list limited releases as wide. |

Early word is pretty fantastic and it's from the creator of Upgrade which got terrific reviews (rightfully so) so it's not hard to imagine this is a winner. |

I think Invisible Man should be good enough to cross $20m which will be good enough for #1 next weekend, don't see Sonic more than TIM. |

Finally a good horror movie this year. I'm glad they were smart and didn't wait too long to lift the embargo. |

So we will finally have a horror movie open to #1 next weekend. Will be interesting to see its legs. TIM could surprise with larger than expected opening as well. |

Invisible Man PS is still dominated by Imax/PLF is large markets and so I dont see BO more than low 20's at this point. Let us see how walk ups are tomorrow. |

Looking solid in my region. I think people are ready for a good horror movie. I'm going with $32m. |

That would be great for it though horror movies are generally frontloaded. |
