Using that same logic, cancer and plane crashes are not causes of death either. Because we’re all gonna die anyways. The coroner should just put the cause of death as “Birth” on every certificate, right?

If covid takes you even one minuter sooner than you would have gone otherwise then you died from covid.

I think the logic is more that a lot of these people would have died despite Covid, not that people are dying of Covid who would have gotten better without it.

One thing I definitely wanna see when the film industry returns is a zombie movie where people purposefully let themselves get bit to prove its a hoax. Anything else will be unrealistic going forward.

I have no doubt that in 10 years, folks on all sides of whatever debates exist around COVID will look back and have more nuanced (and sometimes changed) opinions.

Just waiting on FDA’s final word on Moderna! Could come at any time!

Johnson and Johnson is looking good, though No one is gonna want the 62% effective AstraZeneca vaccine, even if authorized.

Awesome. I’m waiting for content before reactivating my A-list plan.

Enjoy it before that third wave hits us. Italy and Brazil already back into lockdown modes and i heard Brazil's health care system bombed harder than the previous waves.

That’s not going to happen here (US).

We are a week or two away from half of US adults (130m out of 260m) having at least one shot. Unless a strain that completely evades the vaccines emerges, the US can’t possibly get THAT bad. Most European countries have way less vaccine.

The US's vaccination effort has been very impressive. My sister who lives in the US has gotten a shot before my parents over here in France (and of course I probably won't be getting one until June). I think you'll probably be done with this pretty soon (in a few weeks if Israel is any indication).

Capitalist medical system=Operation Warp Speed=America gets best dibs on vaccines.

OWS is more like state capitalism than anything else tbh. And the UK has done just as well with a public health service. I think it's more a matter of investment than anything else, and both the US and the UK lined up the cash, which continental European countries kind of failed to do (perhaps Germany excepted).

Looks like French box office will be coming back strongly this weekend despite 35 % capacity and 9pm curfew...

Venom was pushed back today. Wouldn't be shocked to see a bunch more. Cases are the highest they've been since January so looks like 2021 may be another box office write off.

Hotel Transylvania is also exploring alternate release. https://variety.com/2021/film/news/hote ... 235038976/

Theaters won't close unless box office gets to early 2021 level so I don't see why moving will help anything... covid isn't going away anytime soon and vaccines are effective.

Agreed that's a stupid move. It's not helping anyone by changing the release schedule anymore.

The only change that makes sense is to continue day and date PVOD releases if they really think theaters only is unstable. There will always be more (hopefully less and less deadly) variants of COVID

Bad reviews probably hurt it too.
