That's pretty solid for Queen and Slim, its playing in less than 2000 theaters.

All of these films look to have solid runs so good weekend. If Frozen does well over 500m that first weekend thread will be funny to look back at.

Netflix will never end the theater-going experience. Theaters are simply overdue for innovating the experience.

Just wait until TENET and THE BATMAN arrive into theaters

You’re right. I’m glad I saw The Irishman on the big screen in a theater. Makes a big difference.

Has there been a more positive Top 5 all year? Beautiful numbers.

Frozen is HUGE
Knives Out is a rare major adult breakout
Ford v Ferrari is holding well and will smash $100m
Neighbourhood is doing well and can leg it close to $100m from here
Queen and Slim has a strong per screen average and also a breakout

4/5 original films. Impressive.

Me too.

And now i started to re-watch it on Netflix and enjoying it without the weight of expectations. But the cinema experience is still the best.

Great month for the business with Knives Out and Ford vs Ferrari succeeding, and the reaches for sequel and remake material in Terminator and Charlie's Angels embarrassing. We can assume The Irishman is a hit as well

Great for Frozen II. Hope it gets close to $600m total so I get points in the prediction game. :)

Knives Out and Queen & Slim did great too. The former should be able to clear $85m and the latter $35m.

KO will definitely clear $100m if it holds well tonight and has a good increase tomorrow.

Yeah, its OD minus advance screenings was the same as Creed in 2015. Good WOM should help it finish over $100m.

Shame Frozen 2 didn't NAIL IT cause it could've put up an obscene total. The Thanksgiving and Christmas boost was always going to be insane. If it opened to 200 mil and had A+ Cinemascore (a lot to ask I know) I think it would've challenged TFA

I think it could have challenged Endgame but still not TFA.

Imagine that? Releasing good movies that people want to see. What a concept.

I don't think the 4-quadrant appeal is strong enough for it to have ever put up those kind of numbers. It's had a fantastic set of weekdays, nonetheless.

Correct. It certainly does not have the 4-quadrant appeal hence never felt this would even reach TI2 levels let alone TFA.

It would have if it was released 3 years ago.

Honestly this is a tad disappointing for Frozen 2 after the huge Tue+Wed. At this point it may easily miss Dory's total gross, especially since I'm pretty sure this is falling again from those projections, probably to 85/86M.

Thursday drop should be good for the Friday increase. That’s what usually happens; it’s a daily fluctuation with a particular audience and a particular day. I remember female films dropping on Thanksgiving; many women are probably too busy on thanksgiving to go to the movies. A good Wednesday basically always means a good Friday.

Knives Out held a good amount better than I expected on Thursday considering it had almost 4 Million in previews added to its Wednesday.

I still don't see it attracting boys and older males even then. It was lightening in a bottle to hit 400m and a sequel would have maxed out at 500m then. Now it's going to get close with 450m or more. 600m+ was too much to ask.
